When an art director makes selects at Nike’s studios in LA they choose not only the images, but the order they’ll appear on the product page. In order to capture this on set the art director sorts the photos in Capture One and the tech would then replace the shot number with a letter suffix.

The Renamer application was built to automate this error prone task. The app handles renaming files and also testing that the filenames are valid to begin with. Once imported into the app the files can be reordered, if needed, taking into account files already renamed in the case of reselects.

The application was designed to be configurable by production to account for different product categories and shot types with different naming requirements.
